***When using candle holders, be sure to burn one within sight. Do not burn unattended, near flammables, or around children.***

I love a cute candle. Candles bring so much ambiance and aesthetic to my everyday life, especially through the dark winters of Alaska. There are many ways to use a candle holder, but I figured I would share my process for setting candlesticks and then cleaning used holders.

To set your candles:

I take my empty holders and fill the bottom third with wax beads before placing them in an old pan shallowly filled with water. On the stove with low heat, I heat the holders until the wax has melted. Carefully remove the holder and place your candlestick inside, making sure it is upright and not leaning. Sometimes I need to hold it for a minute or two while the wax solidifies. Alternatively, you can take a burning candle and pour off the top liquid layer of wax into your holder to solidify your sticks.

To clean used holders:

Place holders in a shallow pan of water and heat until wax has melted. Pour any unwanted wax into a disposable container (or leave some for your next candle) and use a paper towel or napkin to wipe away any melted wax off the sides of your candle holder. It is now ready for a new candle!

I hope you take pleasure in adorning your home with lovely candles. Burn responsibly!
